EFNEP Educators in the East enjoyed a fun-filled unit meeting at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Martin County Center on May 12th. Jean Brownfield, N.C. A&T EFNEP educator, hosted the meeting and showcased her creative touch.

She created a veggie tray that was truly a work of art with vibrantly colored vegetables arranged in the shape of a butterfly with bell peppers used to hold hummus and ranch dip. She also prepared rosemary and cucumber-infused water which was very refreshing! Jean shared information from the Teen Cuisine curriculum "Watch Out for Added Sugars" lesson, prepared the recipe "Fruit Chewy Cookies" with assistance from Patty Bowers, EFNEP Educator in Chowan County and allowed the team to use the blender bike to make a "Banana Berry Smoothie." It was a fun way for the team to spend the day!
