EFNEP helps address the challenges limited-resource families face when introducing healthy changes through nutrition education, cooking classes, physical activity strategies, and shopping on a limited budget.
Over the past year, EFNEP reached 1,826 families and 20,043 youth across 40 counties in North Carolina. Of those who participated in the program- 98% improved their dietary quality
- 80% now practice daily physical activity
- 95% practice better food resource management
- 85% have improved their food safety habits
