Collapse ▲On Friday, June 28th, 2024, the Northeast and East EFNEP Regions combined to gather in Edgecombe County for a productive and engaging meeting. The day kicked off with a icebreaker game called ‘Mug Shot,’ where everyone brought their favorite mugs from home. This fun activity learned from a previous EFNEP Leadership meeting, allowed us to get to know each other better and set a warm tone for the day.
We were excited to introduce two new EFNEP educators to our team: Claire from Bertie County and Jamie from Pitt County. Following the introductions, we dove into important EFNEP updates and reminders, ensuring everyone was on the same page, then also enjoyed hearing what EFNEP programs everyone had planned for this summer in their communities. Our meeting also included a tasting of the EFNEP recipe for Pasta Salad, modified with a variety of cucumbers and tomatoes freshly picked from the garden. This delicious and healthy dish was a hit.
After our lunch break, we embraced some ‘move more’ time by taking a walk together to a local coffee shop. There, we enjoyed a treat while participating in a lively and competitive Jeopardy game. This game helped us review and learn key EFNEP content from our curricula in an interactive and enjoyable way. As a lovely ending to our meeting, everyone was invited to take home fresh-cut flowers, generously donated by Lauren’s sister. Overall, the meeting was a success, filled with learning, laughter, and meaningful connections. We look forward to continuing our efforts in making a positive impact through EFNEP in our communities.
