Strong Partnership Leads to Larger Improved EFNEP Teaching Space

(Updated: April 25, 2024, 3:27 a.m.)

Since February 2023, Paige Svetahor, EFNEP Educator in Onslow County has maintained a strong ongoing partnership with the Salvation Army Food Pantry Distribution Center in Jacksonville, NC. During this time, she has taught more than 30 adult participants. Paige is currently teaching her fourth series with them and was recently surprised with an improved teaching space. Initially, Paige’s teaching space was in a central location that was a pass-through space between the front door/lobby and the warehouse in the back, so people were frequently walking through during the class.

Her new space features a stage, a big wall for projecting slides, and an open area that is more conducive for her groups to meet. Paige is excited to utilize this new space so all participants have the opportunity to participate in the hands-on food preparation and activities. She is currently recruiting for the next series.
