At a local elementary school in Pasquotank County, a room full of eager first graders recently picked up their pencils to take EFNEP's entry survey, marking the start of an exciting new learning journey. Led by Lynnell Godfrey, Youth EFNEP Educator, the initial assessment tested the students' ability to identify healthy snacks, fruits, vegetables, and dairy foods, as well as recognize physical activity and proper hand hygiene habits.
Before diving into the education series, administering this entry survey helps Lynnell gauge what these young learners already know. By understanding what students recognize on day one, she can tailor her instruction to meet the students where they are.
