The EFNEP Educators in the East and Northeast Regions met together at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Bertie County Center on April 12th for a team meeting followed by a team building activity. Liz Baker, FCS Agent in Bertie County, coordinated a “Sip and Paint” activity which included the opportunity to sample three healthy beverages while painting. Participants tasted “Orange Freeze”, “Raspberry Lime Fizz” and “Paradise Freeze.” They ranked each beverage and then were able to “sip” on their favorite throughout the painting activity. Katie Carter, Bertie County Librarian, provided guided step-by-step instructions on how to paint a spring-themed image of a butterfly and flower on canvas.
Painting the Path to Team Success
(Updated: April 18, 2024, 10:15 a.m.)
A finished painting was used for guidance; however, each person was able customize their painting with their favorite colors, style and design preferences. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed participating in the Sip and Paint activity together. Although each person painted their own canvas, the shared support and camaraderie encouraged bonding among team members. These experiences are valuable opportunities for connection!
