EFNEP’s leadership team gathered on campus for another successful week of planning, connection, and service. Staff from NC State and NC A&T joined together to set goals and collaborate on plans for the future.
Addie Wilson, NC A&T State University EFNEP Coordinator, kicked off our 3 day meeting with an ‘I speak for’ activity to reflect on EFNEP’s purpose and mission. EFNEP aims to improve the health of North Carolinians by teaching families and youth to cook healthy meals at home, be more active, save money on food costs, and handle food safely. Although this is no small task, our dedicated group is motivated to continue making impacts in North Carolina."Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better its not." -Dr. SeussDr. Katie Sanders, Food Systems Communication Assistant Professor and Extension Specialist, and Jeff Essic, Lead Librarian for GIS, joined the meeting to share more about locating available resources and cultivating partnerships throughout the state.
Dr. Katryn Eske, NC A&T State University Nutrition Specialist, joined the conversation to discuss training needs and continuing education. Dr. Meredith Weinstein, Evaluation and Accountability Coordinator, was also able to join the meeting to share more about the inclusivity of our programs and ensure we are reaching all those in need here in North Carolina.
