The East and Northeast EFNEP Educators recently gathered for their in-person region meeting in Bertie County. It was a productive day focused on both professional development and team bonding. The meeting kicked off with a timely training session on Artificial Intelligence (AI), led by Tracey Peake, Communications Specialist for the NC State News Service. Tracey guided the educators through the approved tools and best practices for leveraging AI in their work, equipping them with valuable modern skills.

In the spirit of healthy eating and program development, the team also took on the role of taste testers! They experimented with two potential new EFNEP recipes: cottage cheese desserts! While the feedback was mixed, the ensuing discussion was lively and yielded several great ideas on how to adapt and refine the recipes for future use. The afternoon offered a chance for creativity and connection. Educators worked together on an autumn craft while sharing updates on the programming currently underway in their respective counties. These regional gatherings are always invaluable. Getting together in person provides a great opportunity to connect, share ideas, and discuss best practices, which ultimately strengthens the teaching and outreach of the entire EFNEP team.
