Connection, Collaboration, and Community Service

Our state team gathered earlier this month for our quarterly team meeting. During this valuable time together, our team was able to connect and collaborate. Throughout the 3 day meeting, staff were able to share new ideas, demonstrate skills, and provide updates to materials and tools that will help improve our program and outreach efforts.

To kick off the week, staff volunteered at the local Ronald McDonald House to provide meals to families caring for their sick child. This opportunity was a great way to give back to the community and provide a healthy meal for these families during a challenging time. With support from our team and donations from the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina , meals were provided for 50 residents at the house.

Throughout the week, we shared ideas and strategies to continue providing impactful programs across our state. We were joined by Dr. Annie Hardison-Moody: Associate Director and FCS Program Leader, NC State Extension, who continues to support and advocate for EFNEP in North Carolina. We were also glad to have Dr. Virginia Stage join us to help guide the revision process for the 6th edition of our Families Eating Smart and Moving More curriculum. Stay tuned for more updates on the progress of this curriculum alignment revisions.
