Turning Food Scraps Into Future Soil!

In the North Central Region, EFNEP educators gathered to learn practical life skills. Team members visited a beautiful educational farm where Durham County Agricultural and Local Foods Agent, John Lyttle, led a truly engaging workshop. The topic? Composting!

The EFNEP team learned the essential step-by-step process of building a healthy compost pile using common items like food scraps, dry leaves, and pine needles. The participation was incredible—everyone had questions and jumped right in! This hands-on experience means our EFNEP educators are bringing even more valuable, sustainable food skills back to their communities.
