Collapse ▲Staff from across the state gathered for our final leadership meeting of the year. We were thrilled to welcome Karla Gutierrez Carreon, our newest state team member who will be assisting with Data Entry. Welcome, Karla!
We were also joined by Dr. Annie Harrison-Moody, Interim Assistant Family and Consumer Sciences Program Leader, Associate Professor and Extension Specialist. Annie has been a long time advocate and champion for EFNEP. By joining our meeting, she learned more about EFNEP’s impacts over the year and ways to continue supporting our program.
.With staff working all across North Carolina, it is not often we get to explore campus. Geoff Bock, Director of Operations, led a tour of the NC State Plant Sciences Building where we learned about their innovative experiments and partnership across campus and the state of North Carolina.
Dave Herpy, Extension Organizational Development (EOD) Coordinator, guided our team through a final strategic planning closure after our initial strategic plan in May. Collectively, we determine our core mission focused on dedication and solution-orientation.
To wrap up our meeting, we joined a virtual EFNEP Recognition Event hosted by the USDA NIFA. This event highlighted EFNEP educators across the country, including our very own educator, Della Hicks! Della has worked in Pasquotank County for over 26 years serving her community. Her passion does not go unnoticed, including by former colleague, Carinthia Cherry, Program Coordinator Institute of Food Safety and Nutrition (IFSN).
